Since everyone was home a month before Christmas, instead of on Christmas day itself, we decided to have our very own Christmas in November.
For something a little different we opted for natural colours, lavender wreaths and touches of gold.

Lavender Wreath
I used long pieces of lavender (just the bottom leafy bit), shaped it into a circle and tied the two ends together with brown string. Other variations include rosemary and fern leaves.

Gift exchange games
As I normally tend to do, I went a little bit overboard and decided to do more than one game.
First game each guest had to bring along a unisex gift to the value of R100. I then placed flying inspired instructions randomly under each plate e.g.
Sharon is traveling in premium business class all the way to NYC.
Swop with the person who has the BEST present in your mind!
By the end of the game if you end up with the gift you bought then you can 'steal' any gift at the table.
I have attached a few different templates which can be used. Font used: Janda Quirkygirl

Second game we bought a single R50 voucher from Woolies (but you can use anything or even the R100 gift idea above). Instead of gifts we passed around 8 envelopes (one for each person) and only one of the envelopes had a winning message inside. You can nominate someone who does not want to play to read the story or someone can try and play and read at the same time. Every time the word LEFT or LEFTY is said you pass your gift/envelope to the left, same as the right and if the word ACROSS is said then you pass it to the person across from you.
